Apprenticeship Details

Family run FlowFit in Ludlow who specialise in manufactoring and selling Hydrulics, are offering an apprenticeship in their Engineering department, with the role leading to permanent employement at the end of the apprenticeship for the right candidate.

You will learn all aspects of the company, and will understand that there is a solution to every problem, working with our experienced engineers. The position will cover many aspects of Maintenace including the following and not limited to:

  • Working on hydraulic cylinders
  • Hydraulic hand pumps
  • Hydraulic motors and pumps
  • Learning how to complete bespoke hydraulic systems
  • You will be trained to understand all the aspects applied to fluid power

You will also learn other aspects of the company working in other areas such as

  • The company Stores
  • Assembly
  • Testing and report writing

This will gain you an invaulable overview of the company

Excellent level of Mathematices, English and Science skills are essential.  

Qualification provided:  Maintenance & Operations Technician Standard Level 3 including BTEC in General Engineering and NVQ in Maintenance.

Desired Qualifications required: GCSE Maths and English grade 5 and above or Functional Skills level  2 and above.  If you do not have GCSE grade 5 or above or Funcational Skills Level 2 and above in either of these, then you will be entered in for a short training course including exam during your apprenticeship with us, this is a mandatory part of the apprenticeship training.

Science GCSE Grade 5 and two other GCSE Grade 5 and above

Desired Skills: Good work ethic, willing to learn and excellent timekeeping skills

Desired Personal Qualities: Must be able to work effectively in a team and work independantly sometimes alone and have the ability to effectively communicate with others 

Reality Check: You will be standing for long periods of time when at the benches assembling and testing. The company is not far from a bus route, but applicants would benefit from living within 5 miles.
