“From previously studying A Levels to Beauty Therapy, I decided my creativity and good interpersonal skills could be used in the business industry which could then lead to a variety of opportunities, as there are so many different roles in business.

Throughout my Level 3 Business course, one of my favourite modules was ‘Creating your own Business’ as I was given the freedom to design services, themes, brand ethos and budgeting. I was given the opportunity to perform a ‘Dragons Den’ style presentation in front of fellow students and parents, where my business idea was a mobile beauty bus offering on the go beauty and pamper treatments for those not able to use transport as often as others.

I have benefitted from strong guidance and support from my tutor who has helped me to build myself as a person through tutorial sessions and has also allowed me to work using my own initiative. I have found my feet at college and I feel that students are really well looked after by both tutors and other members of staff, who are happy to offer extra help and resources.

I recently took part in a work placement within the College Marketing Department, to give me an insight into the expectations of the role and daily life. I really enjoyed the placement and think it gave me more motivation to study at university, as everyone made me feel at ease whilst giving me real life tasks to work on. I would highly recommend a work placement, as it helped me decide my feelings and capability on the career path I have decided on. I hope to progress to university next year to study Advertising and Marketing at either Cardiff or Bristol University. I am excited for my career in the business world thanks to the facilities and help from the College.”
