Dannii Wilkes, Horse Management Level 3

Dannii started at the College on the Horse Care Level 2 qualification before progressing on to Horse Management Level 3. Over the summer, Dannii was working with an international events rider and is looking long-term to go into a career in horse grooming.

“Holme Lacy is a brilliant campus to learn at, as all the staff and students are friendly. Coming to the College with no prior experience, I didn’t feel that this would be an issue, as the staff welcome students of all abilities and experience. The course itself is great, you learn a lot of skills and the best parts for me are the hands-on, practical elements of the course. I love riding, working in the yard and grooming the horses, it’s not all academic work.

When I finish the course, my plans are to go into a career in horse grooming, I was working for an international events rider over the summer, which was a great experience. I would really recommend this course as it offers great opportunities and plenty of practical work, without the need for any prior experience.”
