Robert Ralph – HNC Electrical Engineering
“I decided to follow a career in engineering after seeing the RAF Engineering stand at a careers event at my school, and after studying the Level 3 Engineering course at Herefordshire & Ludlow College I then went on further to study the HNC Electrical Engineering.
It was a really interesting course with plenty of hands-on experience and practical lessons. It gave me a good basis in all aspects of engineering from milling and turning to CAD design and electrical, which I chose to specialise in.
The staff are really approachable and you can always ask for help. They are really friendly and you can have a laugh and a joke with them, which really makes a difference to your learning environment. There is a good range of engineering equipment to use at the College, which helps in taking the theoretical lessons into practical.
Looking forward, I am going to focus on working in my current role at Henry Weston’s Cider, as a Maintenance Engineer.”
