Sam Neill

“My experience of studying the Foundation Degree in Mental Health at the College for Worcester University has been an incredibly positive experience. Being an older student, I had concerns if I could manage the workload, particularly being a busy Mum of 3, and being out of education for 25 years. My cohort had a very mixed age group ranging from 19 to over 50. The ease in which we were able to identify with each other and support one another through these years has been nothing but positive and I have made some wonderful new friends.

Being a one day per week full-time course on campus coupled with home online learning made the course a very accessible one to all ages, abilities, and circumstances. The course tutors have been incredibly supportive, their knowledge and support particularly being prevalent throughout our last 18 months whilst studying. They have been able to adapt the course to enable us to still produce a range of interesting and varied work. It has enabled me to secure a position within secondary education as a Safeguarding Officer, working with vulnerable children. I have found this hugely rewarding and it has given me a new lease of life. I would recommend this course to anyone, to all age groups and abilities.”
