Beauty Therapy - Level 2

This is a professional and client-focused course where you can learn the latest skills in skin, nail and beauty care.
Course Overview
This course is designed for any individual who has a passion for beauty therapy and high standards of customer service. Training is undertaken in a fabulous clinic and salon which are fully equipped with the latest industry products and equipment. You will experience working in a professional industry environment with genuine customers and combine this with relevant theory and practical learning.
There is an option to study additional certificates to the Level 2 qualification, such as make-up and skincare workshops, and also to be involved in the College’s Hair and Beauty Show. The thorough and professional understanding developed through your studies will prepare you for a career in beauty therapy offering many exciting opportunities, such as managing and running your own salon, travelling the world working on a luxury liner, being a therapist in a prestigious health farm or spa, or teaching your skills to others at a college or private centre.

Duration: One Year

Assessment
You will be assessed on a continuous basis within a realistic working environment. You will also be required to produce a portfolio of evidence to be certified by your assessors. Theoretical aspects of the programme will mainly be assessed through assignments and internal and external test papers. All full-time students are required to study English and maths at the appropriate level.
Maths and English
All students following a full-time programme of study at HLC will study English and maths as part of their studies, please refer to the Study Programmes page of this website.
Entry Requirements
- GCSE passes at grade 3 (grade D) or above in English, maths and a science subject
- Successful interview and initial assessment
- Attend the skills test/taster day
- You will need to demonstrate an enthusiasm for this subject area

Please note that all supplementary workshops are at an additional cost and are not part of the formal Level 2 Diploma. The costs given below are subject to change.
Aged 16 - 18 years: There are no tuition or exam fees.
Aged 19 years or over: Tuition Fee £995 | Registration/Exam Fee £100

Personal Equipment: You may also be expected to buy your own equipment costing approximately £438.
