Beauty Therapy - Level 3

Training you in the very latest skills of professional beauty therapy including face and body electrotherapy and body massage.
Course overview
Develop your practical beauty therapy skills in our superb commercial training salons and clinic.
Expand your knowledge of applying individual permanent lashes, intimate waxing, spray tan and applying self-tan products. You can also learn about IT, data handling and contributing to the effective running of a beauty therapy business. You will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety, client care and communication.
Previous students have progressed to a range of exciting careers including running their own successful salons and even providing treatments on cruise ships across the globe.

Assesment
You will be assessed on a continuous basis within a realistic working environment and by an assessed portfolio of evidence, assignments, test papers and documented evidence of case studies. All full-time students are required to study maths and English at the appropriate level.
Maths and English
All students following a full-time programme of study at HLC will study English and maths as part of their studies, please refer to the Study Programmes page of this website.
Entry requirements
- Five GCSEs at grade 4 (grade C) or above (to include maths, a science subject and English) or successful completion of a suitable and relevant Level 2 qualification at Merit grade
- Successful interview and initial assessment in literacy and numeracy
- Applicants will be expected to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to the chosen subject area
Progression
Progression routes shown are dependent on successful completion of qualifications and meeting entry criteria.
Study options may include:
- Level 4 Beauty (at another institution)
- University-level courses in Management (www.hlcollege.ac.uk for university-level courses)
Employment options may include:
- Working in a salon, health spa, hotel or cruise ship
- Sales & distribution
- Manager or supervisor

Course costs
Please note that all supplementary workshops are at an additional cost and are not part of the formal Level 3 Diploma. The costs given below are subject to change.
Students aged 16 to 18: There are no tuition or examination fees.
Students aged 19 to 23: Who are studying for their first full Level 3 qualification will be not be charged any tuition fees, but will be charged the materials fee only.
Students aged 19 to 23: Who already hold a full Level 3 qualification and all students who are 24 or over will be liable for the full cost of the course, based on the current student loan applicable for the qualification. Please ask to speak to our Finance department to be advised of the fee / loan due.
