Intermediate Counselling Skills Level 2
This is an interactive course designed for those who want to become competent in the use of counselling skills to help others, either in a voluntary or employed situation. It is also for those who want to find out more about how to qualify as a counsellor. This course is suitable for those who want to take the first step in training to be a counsellor: This course won't qualify you to be a counsellor, but will prepare you for the next level of practitioner training or will help you develop skills that will be useful in any situation where you are dealing with people. Students on this course can progress to the Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Developing Counselling Skills.
The course aims to help students build on their prior learning achieved at Level 1 where they will have the opportunity to refine their counselling skills in order to become more effective in the helping role. Students will learn more about the particular requirements of counselling training and will be able to explore possible progression routes if appropriate. Students are required to produce a Portfolio which will include assessed tasks, practice observations and self-reflections.
