Entry Requirements
Before attending this course, candidates must have achieved the following;
Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting, Award in Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm, Award in Accessing a Tree Using a Rope and Harness Including Aerial Tree Rescue Operations. The course will cover the aerial operation of chainsaws using different techniques for delimbing trees.

- Identify and inspection of equipment
- Preparation of equipment for use
- Operate a chainsaw from a rope and harness
Assessment/Progression
Following the course, candidates will be assessed for NPTC Level 2 Award in Aerial Cutting of Trees using Free Fall Techniques. This is a practical assessment which will take place on a separate day. Tests are organised by NPTC to take place at College, however if you wish to reschedule this to take place on your own site, please advise at time of booking.
