T-Level in Health
A T-Level is a new two-year qualification which combines classroom theory, practical learning and a substantial work experience placement in the second year to ensure students have the skills to thrive in the world of work.
T-Levels aim to provide the knowledge and experience needed to open the door to highly skilled employment, higher level study or a Higher Apprenticeship. The equivalent of three A Levels, T-Levels are recognised by UCAS to support applications to study at university.
Qualification: NCFE Level 3 T level in Health
Duration: Two Years
The core content consists of the following units;
- Person-centred Care
- Communication Skills
- Team Working
- Reflective Evaluation and Research Skills
- Presentation skills
- Employer based learning
Students will also take specialist units to Healthcare such as Infection Control.
The course is based on many skills being assessed in Clinical Practice, therefore work based learning is an important part of course.
Some Work based learning can be achieved through the employer if the student is already working in an appropriate Health Care setting.
- Five GCSEs at grades 4 or above including English
- Successful interview and initial assessment, including diagnostic tests and a good school reference
- You will need to demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm for this subject area
Progression routes shown are dependent on successful completion of qualifications and meeting entry criteria.
Study options may include:
- Higher education courses such as BSc Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, midwifery, BSc Social Work
- Paramedic Science
- Primary School teaching
Employment options may include:
- Health Care Assistant level 3
- Support Worker
Students aged 16 to 18: There are no tuition or examination fees.
Students aged 19 to 23: Who are studying for their first full Level 3 qualification will be not be charged any tuition fees, but will be charged the materials fee only.
Students aged 19 to 23: Who already hold a full Level 3 qualification and all students who are 24 or over will be liable for the full cost of the course, based on the current student loan applicable for the qualification. Please contact our Finance department to be advised of the fee / loan due.
Additional Costs: £95, plus £47 for a DBS enhancement check.
