Course Content
This course aims to develop your skills necessary to make complex pieces of furniture. The course will include:
- Marking and cutting dovetail joints and where they are used in furniture making.
- Correct sharpening of chisels and plane blades.
- Routing techniques.
- Veneering and basic inlay work
- Fitting cabinet hinges.
- All of the above will be taught during the making of a project
- Finishing techniques – Types of finish and applying the correct one to enhance your completed piece of furniture
Entry Requirements
No formal entry requirements although completion of the Herefordshire and Ludlow College’s ‘Beginners Furniture Making’ evening course or basic furniture making skills are an advantage.
