Students in Remembrance Parade
Public Services’ students continued with their support of the Poppy Appeal with a moving remembrance parade at Herefordshire & Ludlow College’s Hereford Campus. Over 50 students took part in the parade which was led by Level 3 students with support from Captain Ray Morris from the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (M).
Staff and students from the College, as well as the general public, turned out to watch the parade which circled the Campus with well-prepared precision. It was then followed by a period of silent remembrance and a reading of Anne Starr’s poem ‘Why I Wear a Poppy’ read by Abigail Johnson, Chloe Griffiths and Lewis Aston. The parade was then led out to the background music from Alan Silvestri’s ‘Cast Away’ whilst learners placed their individual poppies in a wreath.
Programme Manager, Craig Smith commented “I’m really proud of our students and all that they have achieved with the Poppy Appeal over the last two weeks. They have all shown great compassion and dedication to such a worthy cause and their commitment today has been exemplary”.
