Foundation Degree Students Placement Project Open Event
Students studying both the Level 5 Foundation Degree in Mental Health and Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care exhibited their placement projects at the Hereford Campus, demonstrating a visual display of alternative concepts.
Students worked on their projects across the year, reflecting a change they would make to their own placement setting and how they would implement that change. The students were assessed by the teaching team during an ‘open event’ morning, where students were able to display their work and discuss their projects with their mentors. Other students and guests invited by the students also attended the open event, allowing the learners to openly discuss their projects with a range of individuals.
Programme Lead, Kate James commented, “One of our students works in A&E and produced a flow chart for triage nurses to assess a particular type of ankle injury which actually reduced waiting times in A&E significantly. All students came up with really creative and original ideas, and the whole event was a great success!”
