Vaughan Nash Trust Funding Grants

Are you a student within Rural Crafts or the Trades? The Vaughan Nash Trust (Registered Charity 263651) is offering funding grants to support students like you!

Background

Vaughan Nash did much to raise awareness of the difficulties and shortages of rural crafts and trades during the early 1900s. Following his death in 1932, the Vaughan Nash Trust was established to provide financial assistance in the form of small grants to help those working, or seeking to work, in many craft and rural trades.

Funding

Requests for funding have included assistance with costs for those experiencing difficulties in attending training courses, purchasing their specialised tools, promoting their craft skills or attending more advanced courses or trade exhibitions. The Charity Trustees will consider all such requests and recognise that applicants may have other, perhaps more novel, requests in order to develop and advance their craft and business skills.

Grants will be available of up to £1,000 per applicant and will be awarded in June each year. We aim to let successful applicants know by 1st June. Once a grant offer has been made, the recipient must start spending the funds within 2 months of the date of the offer notification.

Application

Please complete the application form, attach any plans, drawings or other relevant information to support your request and hand it to your course tutor. If you have any questions about eligibility, the application process or would like to discuss your application before you apply, please speak to your course tutor. Closing Date for Applications is 1st May 2020.

Reporting Back

You may be asked to provide tangible evidence of the progress of your project such as publicity material, photographs and receipts for purchases to show how you have spent the money. We may also arrange to visit your site to talk to you about how the grant has proved helpful.
